DaVinci Resolve 20.1.1 Update Available Now

Blackmagic Design has released DaVinci Resolve 20.1.1, a focused maintenance update. Instead of major new features, this version ensures greater reliability and smoother performance during daily editing work.

The update addresses several issues users encountered in version 20.1. Cloud projects with stacked timelines now open faster, and the Attributes dialogue remembers user selections instead of resetting. In Fusion, PSD files import properly, Magic Mask offset issues are fixed, and lens space transforms behave correctly.

On the color page, Magic Mask results now pass through to Media Out, and Dolby Vision metadata formatting has been corrected. Multiple crash scenarios were also resolved, including Depth Map on Intel Macs, corrupted MTS clips, and playback of certain MKV files. Windows users benefit from a clearer codec layout, and dual-screen setups now restore properly when switching pages.

These improvements enhance the stability of DaVinci Resolve, reducing workflow interruptions.

A Look Back at DaVinci Resolve 20.1

Earlier this month, version 20.1 introduced significant upgrades. Among them were support for Apple Vision Pro workflows on macOS, advanced Fusion tools, improved Fairlight audio features, and ACES 2.0 color support. The release also added new Resolve FX such as ColorTone Diffuser and Split Tone, plus enhanced safe area guides.

Compared to that feature-rich release, DaVinci Resolve 20.1.1 serves as a follow-up to refine stability and polish those additions. It ensures the new tools introduced in 20.1 run smoothly without disruptions. For professionals relying on Resolve daily, this maintenance update reinforces reliability.

Price, Requirements, and Availability

DaVinci Resolve 20.1.1 is available now as a free download from Blackmagic Design’s support page. The free version and the Studio edition share core processing, while the Studio version adds advanced tools like multi-GPU support, noise reduction, and immersive audio features.

System requirements remain strict. All platforms require GPUs supporting OpenCL 1.2 or CUDA 12.8, along with updated AMD or NVIDIA Studio drivers. macOS users need Sonoma or later with Apple Silicon, Windows requires Windows 10 or newer, while Linux requires Rocky Linux 8.6 with at least 32 GB of RAM for Fusion.

Priced at $325 or €230 (excluding tax/VAT), the Studio version is available via major retailers such as B&H and CVP.

DaVinci Resolve 20.1.1 may not bring groundbreaking tools, but it ensures stability and a more reliable editing environment for creators.
