Sensor Design and Image Quality

DJI Osmo 360 features two newly developed 1/1.1 inch square CMOS sensors with a 1:1 aspect ratio. This unique shape minimizes pixel waste when capturing the circular image from the 180° lenses. According to DJI, the design improves sensor usage by 25%, reduces power consumption, and enhances clarity. The lenses use f1.9 apertures and cover more than 180° field of view. Maximum still photo resolution reaches 15520 by 7760 pixels (120MP), delivering stunning image detail.

Video Performance and Stabilization

In 360 mode, the camera records up to 8K at 50fps. In single-lens mode, it captures 5K at 60fps and 4K at 120fps. Users can switch between front and rear lenses during recording, which is ideal for vloggers. Ultra wide-angle mode expands the field of view to 170°. The camera also supports SuperNight, Selfie, Timelapse, and Hyperlapse modes. HorizonSteady and RockSteady stabilization ensure smooth footage, even during fast movements.

DJI Mimo and DJI Studio apps support advanced editing. Files save in MP4 (HEVC) or OSV format for flexible post-production workflows. DJI Mimo includes GyroFrame for motion-controlled framing and smart tracking for people, pets, or vehicles.

Build, Battery, and Accessory Ecosystem

The Osmo 360 weighs 183g and is IP68 waterproof up to 10 meters. It withstands temperatures as low as -20°C. The camera uses the same 1950mAh battery as the Osmo Action 5 Pro, delivering up to 100 minutes of runtime in 8K 30fps. With the Battery Extension Rod, this extends by up to 180 minutes. Quick charging provides a 50% charge in just 12 minutes.

The device uses DJI’s magnetic quick-release mount, compatible with previous Osmo Action accessories. It also includes a 1/4-20” thread for traditional mounts. Audio input is supported through DJI Mic 2 and Mic Mini transmitters without a separate receiver.
