Sigma has unveiled the Sigma 16-300mm f3.5-6.7 DC OS Contemporary lens, designed for L-Mount, Sony E-mount, Fujifilm X Mount, and Canon RF Mount. As the brand’s first all-in-one zoom lens in years, it offers “uncompromising optical quality” despite its extensive focal range.

With a 35mm equivalent of 24-450mm, the Sigma 16-300mm f3.5-6.7 DC OS is claimed to be the world’s first mirrorless lens featuring an 18.8x zoom ratio, the highest among APS-C mirrorless lenses. The only competitor approaching this range comes from Tamron’s 18-300mm lens.
“This incredibly versatile all-in-one zoom is the perfect choice for photographers exploring various genres,” Sigma states.
Covering everything from wide-angle to super-telephoto, this lens also delivers a 1:2 maximum magnification ratio at 70mm. It boasts a minimum focusing distance of 6.7 inches at the wide end and 41.4 inches at full zoom.
Advanced Optics and Build Quality
The Sigma 16-300mm f3.5-6.7 DC OS features 20 elements arranged into 14 groups, incorporating one FLD, four SLD, and four aspherical elements. A minimum aperture range of f/22 to f/45 ensures controlled depth of field. This advanced optical design reduces flare and ghosting while enhancing overall image quality with effective aberration correction. Additionally, focus breathing suppression allows filmmakers to maintain consistent framing.
Despite its broad zoom range, the lens remains lightweight at 21.7 ounces (615 grams) and compact with a diameter of 2.9 inches (73.8mm) and a length of 4.8 inches (121.4mm). Sigma attributes this compactness to its cutting-edge mechanical and optical engineering.

Autofocus, Stabilization, and Additional Features
Equipped with Sigma’s High-response Linear Actuator (HLA) motor, the Sigma 16-300mm f3.5-6.7 DC OS ensures fast, smooth, and precise autofocus. Optical image stabilization powered by Sigma’s OS2 algorithm enhances handheld shooting, reducing camera shake across the zoom range.
Other notable features include a zoom lock switch, dust and splash resistance, and compatibility with Sigma’s USB Dock UD-11 (for L-mount versions). The mount can also be swapped using Sigma’s Mount Conversion Service.

Availability and Pricing
Sigma will release the 16-300mm f3.5-6.7 DC OS Contemporary on April 17, priced at $699 / €666 across all supported mounts. The package includes a lens hood, front and rear caps, and a storage pouch.
With its exceptional zoom range, optical precision, and compact build, the Sigma 16-300mm f3.5-6.7 DC OS sets a new benchmark for all-in-one lenses in the APS-C category.
