The latest DJI Osmo Pocket 3 firmware update introduces several exciting enhancements, including Med-Tele mode, focus breathing compensation, and more. Since its initial launch in October 2023, the Osmo Pocket 3 has become a go-to compact camera for many creators, thanks to its 1-inch sensor, 4K120 recording capabilities, 10-bit color, and D-Log M profile. Now, with the newest firmware version v01.06.08.04, users gain access to even more useful features.

Med-Tele Mode vs. 2x Digital Zoom
The newly added Med-Tele mode offers a 40mm equivalent focal length while maintaining full 4K UHD resolution. Unlike the previous 2x digital zoom, which often resulted in quality loss, Med-Tele mode enhances resolution and preserves finer details. While it provides an improved zooming experience, it comes with certain limitations:
Available only in the Normal color profile (D-Log M and HLG are unsupported).
ActiveTrack is not functional in this mode.
Maximum ISO is capped at 1600.
Users must stop recording before toggling Med-Tele mode on or off.
Focus Breathing Compensation & Additional Improvements
Another major upgrade is the addition of focus breathing compensation. This feature minimizes shifts in the field of view caused by focus adjustments, delivering a more seamless visual experience. Additionally, users can now access D-Log M (10-bit) color mode while using the Osmo Pocket 3 as a webcam, expanding creative possibilities for livestreaming and video calls.
Other notable enhancements include:
Background file downloads within the DJI Mimo app (requires updating to v2.2.0).
Support for capturing video screenshots and saving them as static or live photos.
Various minor bug fixes for improved stability.
Availability
The firmware update is available at no cost and can be installed via the DJI Mimo smartphone app. Before updating the camera, DJI recommends ensuring that the app is running on the latest version.
For those interested, the Osmo Pocket 3 remains available for purchase at $519 or €549 for the standard kit or $669 or €689 for the Creator Combo.

Final Thoughts
The latest firmware update significantly enhances the DJI Osmo Pocket 3’s capabilities, making it even more versatile for content creators and filmmakers. Whether it’s the improved zoom experience with Med-Tele mode, better focus control, or expanded webcam functionality, this update ensures that users get the most out of their compact gimbal camera.
