Ricoh GR IV, the newest model in Ricoh Imaging’s renowned GR series, has officially entered development. This high-end compact digital camera is set to hit the market in Autumn 2025. Continuing the GR tradition, the GR IV promises a powerful blend of top-tier image quality, speed, and portability—making it a perfect choice for enthusiasts and professionals seeking a capable snapshot tool.

Ricoh completely redesigned the GR IV’s core hardware. It features a new lens, a fresh image sensor, and a powerful imaging engine. These upgrades ensure significant image quality improvements across a variety of shooting conditions. The camera also gains advanced connectivity, supporting the upcoming GR WORLD smartphone app for a more streamlined workflow and sharing experience.
Public previews of the Ricoh GR IV will start on May 31, 2025, at GR SPACE venues in Tokyo, Beijing, and Shanghai. Ricoh also announced the GR III’s production will stop by July 2025 due to part shortages. However, the GR IIIx remains in production. An HDF (Highlight Diffusion Filter) version of the GR IV is planned for release after Winter 2025.
