Viltrox AF 85mm F1.4 Pro FE made its debut among four new autofocus lenses revealed at the 2025 CP+ camera and photo show. Designed for full-frame Sony E-mount cameras, this fast portrait prime now has its specs leaked by Sony Alpha Rumors.

Leaked Specs Highlight Pro-Level Build and Optics
According to the leak, the Viltrox AF 85mm F1.4 Pro FE features 15 optical elements in 11 groups. This includes three extra-low dispersion elements and an impressive nine high-refractive index elements. It also boasts an 11-blade rounded diaphragm and a minimum focusing distance of 0.79 meters.
Autofocus performance is expected to be a highlight. The lens reportedly includes dual VCM (voice coil motor) autofocus units, delivering fast, smooth, and precise focusing. The front filter thread measures 77mm, and the overall weight is listed at 800 grams.
As part of Viltrox’s professional-grade lineup, expectations are high. To compete with Sony’s FE 85mm F1.4 GM II — widely regarded as the top 85mm full-frame lens in optical quality — Viltrox must deliver outstanding performance. If it comes in at a lower price point while maintaining top-tier image quality, it could become a serious contender.
While official pricing and release dates are still under wraps, the leak points to a possible launch at the 2025 B&H Bild Expo in New York City, starting June 17th. If true, the Viltrox AF 85mm F1.4 Pro FE may soon enter the spotlight.
