RODE Wireless Micro Camera Receiver Now Free for Customers

RØDE just made its Wireless Micro system even more powerful. The new RODE Wireless Micro Camera Receiver extends its compatibility to mirrorless and DSLR cameras, not just smartphones. And the best part? It’s free for current and new customers, depending on how and where they buy.

Expanded Camera Compatibility

RØDE’s new Camera Receiver is a compact dual-channel module that easily connects to cameras using its analog output. You can pair it with up to two Wireless Micro transmitters, enabling a proper dual-person shoot with solid audio. Gain control allows you to adjust audio levels, while plug-in power detection can help your transmitters last longer.

It’s small and light, designed to mount neatly on mirrorless or DSLR camera rigs. This makes it easier for content creators and filmmakers to switch from mobile to camera setups without hassle.

The Wireless Micro Camera Receiver is manufactured in Sydney, Australia, along with the rest of the Wireless Micro series.

Free for Existing and New Customers

You can’t buy this receiver separately. Instead, it’s included for free in these ways:

  • Existing Users: Register your product at account.rode.com and cover the shipping fee to receive the receiver.

  • New Customers: When purchasing the Wireless Micro directly from rode.com (except in the US), you can add the Camera Receiver to your order for free.

RØDE hasn’t announced any stand-alone pricing yet, and availability beyond this promo offer remains unclear. However, it officially ships globally starting July 15, 2025.

More Power to an Already Popular System

The Wireless Micro system features USB-C or Lightning transmitters in black or white, a charging case with up to 21 hours of battery life, and Bluetooth® iOS support via the RØDE Capture app. The full kit retails for $149 USD.

This new Camera Receiver significantly boosts the Wireless Micro’s appeal. Originally designed for smartphone users, the system now fits seamlessly into hybrid or professional camera workflows.

Competing with the Market

It’s clear RØDE wants to stay ahead of fast-growing competition, especially from Chinese brands that already bundle camera receivers. This move offers more versatility without raising the price, which should be welcome news for creators.

Final Thoughts

Do you already own the RODE Wireless Micro? If so, this new Camera Receiver could improve your rig without adding cost. With hybrid content creation on the rise, this update is a smart way to extend your system’s flexibility.
