GoPro MAX2 8K 360 debuts with LIT HERO and Fluid Pro AI Gimbal

GoPro has introduced three new products that expand its ecosystem for creators and action sports users alike. Leading the lineup is the GoPro MAX2 8K 360, a true 8K flagship camera, followed by the pocket-sized LIT HERO lifestyle model, and the Fluid Pro AI Gimbal designed for subject-tracked stabilization.

With DJI and Insta360 battling across drones, action cams, and 360 devices, GoPro answers with hardware aimed at both professionals and casual users. The company’s strategy is clear: support high-end production workflows while making quick, polished capture accessible.

GoPro MAX2 8K 360: flagship 360 capture

The GoPro MAX2 8K 360 is billed as the world’s only true 8K 360 action camera, offering 21% more native resolution than rivals. For filmmakers, this means sharper 4K reframes, flexible crops, and cleaner details when zooming in. It records in 10-bit color and includes GP-Log for grading freedom. Optional GoPro Labs firmware unlocks bitrates up to 300 Mbps for enhanced compression.

A six-microphone array captures immersive spatial audio. The rugged, waterproof design continues GoPro’s tradition of durability, powered by a cold-weather-ready Enduro battery. Twist-and-go lens protectors keep shooting smooth in harsh environments. In-camera POV and selfie modes reduce reliance on post-production.

Other highlights include built-in GPS, cloud-based editing for subscribers, and new mounts optimized for invisible pole shots and drone-like effects.
